new rss feed feature: subscribe openly
Just wanted to share about something I changed on my blog recently.
My footer previously listed the RSS link and the Atom link separately next to a little explanatory link what those are. Opening them would lead to the messy file, looking like a weird or broken webpage. Nothing bad for most people on this side of the web as they’re used to RSS, but not very beginner friendly. You had to know to copy the link into another software.
James made something called Subscribe Openly that generates a little link page for you where it’ll hold links for the most popular Feed readers of your feed.

I’m keeping this in my footer now instead :)
Good to know for Bearblog users: you don’t seem to need to use your Bearblog URL for the feed link, your custom domain /feed works too.
