rss/atom

You're seeing "subscribe to RSS feed" at the bottom of my site. Some people even have a separate RSS link and Atom link on their blogs. But what does it mean?

RSS and Atom are both options for you to be notified when I post and get a copy of it in a feed reader of your choice. It's kind of like following someone and seeing their posts on a timeline, but you can follow all kinds of things across the internet, no matter what platform they're on, and have it all in one feed.

Feed readers are available as websites and apps. There's Feedly, Feeder, Inoreader and many more. Simply find one you're comfortable with. For your convenience, there is the link in my footer that offers buttons for the most popular feed readers thanks to Subscribe Openly.

You can either click on one of the buttons in that link to import it into your selected feed reader, or manually copy my RSS Link or the Atom Link into it to get updates.
The RSS Link: https://avas.bearblog.dev/feed/?type=rss
The Atom Link: https://avas.bearblog.dev/feed
Be warned, if you just open these links in the browser, it's all gibberish - but your feed reader will make it readable :)

You can also do cool things like specifying which kinds of posts you want to receive. If you only want to read my posts that are tagged 'health', you can use https://avas.bearblog.dev/feed?q=health.
You can do this with any of my tags. If they contain spaces, connect the words with a '%20', like 'cool%20links'. Your feed reader settings probably also have the option to filter posts with specific keywords, so if you are tired of seeing my posts about AI, you can set that as a keyword to get filtered as well.

Outside of this platform, many other websites offer this functionality; even YouTube channels. So feel free to follow other blogs, magazines, websites, YouTube channels and more with your feed reader.
