what my chronic illness remission looks like

Remission - "When symptoms of a disease lessen or go away for a period of time. You can have partial or full remission. It can last for months, years or the rest of your life. Remission isn’t the same thing as a cure." (1)

I manage to exercise a lot more consistently and harder now and am no longer bedbound. I even often manage to go to the gym after the office.

Managing more in my education - 3 of my 6 data protection law exams are done, 3 more ahead, 2 other exams in a few months.

A sidenote

I feel conflicted saying this because on one hand, I don’t know your condition, I don’t know your body, I don’t know your doctors, your health journey or even your insurance status and financial options. You are free to do what you want with your body and draw the line wherever you want. On the other hand, I see a lot of chronically ill people fall for fearmongering and grifters who want to sell you their all-natural pills and powders to “cure” you. So all I will say is this: I have not regretted a single day on biologics and they have saved me. If you are scared, I understand. If you have never heard of them but struggle with psoriasis, interstitial cystitis, IBD, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and similar autoimmune issues and they’re not getting better or recurring when stopping steroids, maybe bring up biologics with your doctors and discuss your options.
