hello kitty island adventure: guide post
This is out of the ordinary for this blog, but I feel like putting this somewhere in case it ever helps anyone. The issue with wikis and Reddit threads is that itās all so spread out, comments don't explain much or deleted, contain broken links, and the info may be from earlier versions of the game. The game also has a Discord, where info gets lost even more easily and is walled off.
I may not be able to keep this consistently updated in the future, but I can still gather the current info and the parts I mention likely wonāt be changed anymore. Iām focusing on parts that are overwhelming at the start, easily missed, or never explained, or that I found confusing and no guide would help me.
login įÆā
- Accept all login rewards at once with the corresponding key (likely Y?), otherwise you might miss the rewards that are in the other tabs at the top.
- If My Melody says she wants to give you a flower or bouqet, but you have too many, you can use it and then go back to her to retrieve it; but only the same day. Any unclaimed resource is lost after reset, which happens at a specific global time for everyone.
- Check the Sunblink Mail in menu every now and then, as the developer sometimes doles out Strawberry Crates or Fertilizer.
early game *ą©ā©ā§āĖ
- Run around and explore everything, even areas that feel like you arenāt supposed to get to yet. You are supposed to. Climb and jump and weirdly cheat your way up some cliffs to reach other areas and platforms, they want you to.
- You wonāt get to Hangyodon until a while later, and you need to level up Kuromi for that.
- Donāt waste your Strawberry Crates, hold on to them to upgrade cabins.
- Time traveling is forbidden, messes up your events, and permanently bans you from multiplayer.
- Multiplayer has its own quests and level system, and you will only be able to trade certain items based on your level. To get to the level of trading clothes, you usually need around 3 months worth of multiplayer leveling.
controls dļ¾ā§ļ½„ļ¾
- You can open the map directly instead of just the menu (top left minimap shows the button). You can also just select the clouds (mailboxes) on the map to fasttravel there, you donāt need to run to a mailbox.
- The map has tabs so you donāt have to scroll down the list of locations every time.
- You will get more tools as the game goes on. Especially once you have flowers, you can initially not remove them until you get the trowel.
- To water, harvest, fertilize and trowel, you can hold the button to apply it to the entire flower bed, so you donāt have to do each flower manually.
- After characters reach a certain level, you can gift multiple gifts at once and no longer have to gift one each.
inventory ĖąØą§āļ½”Ė ā
- You have no inventory limit, so collect everything and hoard a lot, don't trash anything.
- Most important resources Iād always recommend to collect (or later, let other characters collect for you): Iron, Magmabloom, Cinnabloom, Fizzy Ore, Pollen Puff, Sticks, Worm Tail.
- Gift Chococat a lot because his Gizmos are really important for quests.
- Low on iron? Play the Gemstone Matching minigame.
seasonal events ć»ć»ć»ć»ć»
- You can open some of the event items you find on the ground, for example the lunchboxes for the Scholastic Event; so if you are ever out of an Event resource (like erasers) check if you can open the items in inventory.
- Clear out some of your flower beds during events, because special event flowers will grow that donāt grow the rest of the year.
character bonus šÕ. .Õš¦Æ
- You can only equip a character after becoming Good Friends.
- Level them up quick by checking the wiki for their 3 heart gifts; some charactersā 3 hearts are too expensive and not worth it, but the wiki notes that and offers the second best options.
- If the puzzle rooms are too hard and you donāt wanna watch a YT guide, you can often just either equip Kuromi or Cinnamoroll to glide higher or wider and reach the location that way. Potions also help.
- Pochacco makes you run faster and can trade sparkles for game tickets for minigames. Badtz-Maru saves you one game ticket.
- Badtz-Maru also turns your comics into an anthology if you have collected them all; just talk to him when you have all issues of a series.
- My Melody saves you Strawberry Crates when you renovate a cabin (but not when upgrading!).
- If you want extra when cooking, equip Hello Kitty, and if you want extra items when buying, equip Tuxedosam while buying, and if you want a few extra crafted items, equip Chococat while crafting.
- Equip Hello Kitty for friendship bonus while gifting. BUG 07/2025 - 09/2025 and maybe longer: Bonus only counts if you gift separately, not three at once.
- Pekkle can change the time of day when talking to him while equipped; really helpful when you need to catch critters that only spawn during specific times. For that, you should also equip Keroppi, because he makes catching critters easier.
- Pompompurin makes timers go slower so you have an advantage doing the island races.
- Big Challenges lets you collect anything you walk over without pressing a button.
- When you see others talk about equipping two characters: That comes later in the game and for a good 3 months at least, you will only be able to equip one.
- If you want to equip or dismiss someone , you donāt have to talk to them; just go into the menu and call them.
- When a quest is locked because a character is busy, theyāre either involved in another ongoing quest or equipped by you; finish that or unequip and it should unlock.
- Once you have maxxed someone to Best Friend, you can ask them to find resources for you. You should do that every time you play, especially later on as thousands of Pollen Puff are needed.
visitors ą«® ⤠⤠į
- Check the visitor tab to see whoās coming. Characters with no icon come all year round whenever thereās a suitable cabin, visitors with a grey no sign arenāt coming even if you have a suitable cabin, and ones with an airplane symbol are traveling soon. Clicking on them shows when. Green symbol means theyāre on the island right now.
- Some visitors are seasonal and only come once a year, for example all fall (Cherry and Berry, for example). Plan accordingly.
- Their visitor profile has their requirements and shows whether there are suitable cabins. You only need the bare minimum listed there.
- Visitors canāt share a room (or cabin, if you havenāt upgraded it to contain multiple rooms) and if you have a room thatās suitable for multiple characters (like Daniel and Mimi) they can block each other from appearing. You can solve this by putting stuff into each space that only they enjoy, on top of the things they both enjoy. That will make them prefer the correct one.
- After 5 quests and having 5 stars, talk to the visitor and they will ask you to become a permanent resident. Say yes because a lot of the game quests hinge on having specific residents, and you need some to unlock others. For example, you need Espresso and other Cinnas for Nuts, that one for Poron, Poron for Corune and Corune for Milk etc.
- Try not to have more than 3 visitors at once, because daily quests are limited and it sucks when theyāre there but you canāt earn a star with them because they can't give a quest. If needed, remove a required item from a cabin before this happens to stop someone from coming.
- After becoming a permanent resident, you can completely change their cabin interior and no longer need to keep the requirements. You can even remove all furniture to use it for someone else.
specific quest advice ā^. .^āā
- Hoard critters until you get the quest āCritter Chicā. Makes it a lot easier to complete than running in circles waiting for crabs and frogs to spawn. Equip Keroppi, use Pekkle to change time of day. Use the wiki to find out where and when they spawn.
- Rainy Day Delight quest: Do not enter the Rain Island Stone into the underwater machine before Chococat is there and you have talked to him. I did, and then he arrives telling you to put it in and you don't have one anymore, needing to craft another one and put it in.
- Try to get the Giant Seeds in the Merry Meadows early, because each takes 3 days to grow. I could have had access to the Crane Game and Creation Station earlier if I had done this, and both helps with flowers and leveling Mell. Tip: One is in a puzzle room in the Meadow, one is on Cloud Island in a rock on a cloud platform on the right. You might need a potion or Cinnamoroll to glide far enough.
- When you get the quest āNulfashionā, you donāt need to craft 6 more bows. You can take the bow you have, and put it on the same Nul seven times. Important: Donāt ever click the X that unequips the hat, just switch between a hat and the bow without that. Then it should count.
- When you get the quest āGargantuan Garden Goalsā, equip Mell and turn some flowers you have hundreds of into seeds. This counts for the quest.
flowers āļ½”Ė ā
- In the beginning, just plant seeds with rows of free space and see what grows. Thatās how I got many different colors in different flowers early.
- Fertilize once you unlock it. Only fertilizer enables flowers to attain patterns (like ombre or others) or successfully transfer colors.
- You get some new breeds by unlocking flower beds in other areas of the island than the Meadows. You do this by getting Mellās friends to become permanent residents. Start with Aro, then Lou, then Roseanne, etc.
- If you want to breed specific colors and transfer one color from one flower breed to another, you plant an ombre in the middle, plant others top left right and bottom, and then the new color should grow in the outer corners. Water, fertilize, and trowel flowers that grow in the space that arenāt the correct color. Here are graphics that helped me (open in new tab for bigger version):
- Yes you need that sooner or later to progress in the game. No way around it, you need to breed some flowers.

the crane game āĖŹÉ
The Crane Game in the Merry Meadows in the third area unlocked with a seed was seriously hard for me even on easy mode. Couldnāt get anything, especially not on hard mode. The tips online didnāt work for me until I equipped Mell, who slows the speed down by 25%. This together with hard mode creates a speed that lets me intuitively time everything right.
So first, equip Mell and choose hard mode for the Crane Game. Move the crane towards the waterfall on the right, but only so far as the path of the boxes goes. Pay attention to the shadow of it, which forms a little line. The second the line reaches the lower edge of the current box, push the button to lower the crane. Should be exactly 3 seconds until the new box, which is the time the crane arm needs to go down and grab.
The graphics and the characters are owned by Sanrio, the game assets belong to Sunblink.
